What makes a successful DEIB initiative? One that leads to real, measurable results on the ground?

For most companies, it means harnessing internal resources — and external partnerships.

At DEAMcon24, we’ll engage this issue directly in the panel, “It Takes a Village”: Strategies to Effectively Leverage Internal & External Resources to Bring your DEIB Program to Life

This session, happening on April 4, 2024 in New Orleans, aims to offer practical insights for enhancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in the workplace.

Inclusively’s own VP of Content Marketing, Tiffany Meehan, will be joining the discussion with experts from OutSolve, BufferSprings, and DirectEmployers. They’ll cover the essential connection between recruitment, compliance, and building a workplace that welcomes everyone.

The Role of Flexibility and Work Personalization in DEIB

This panel is timely. According to a survey from Resume Builder, 90% of companies are considering return-to-office policies by the end of 2024, which could impact employee retention. Given that more than half of professionals know someone who has quit or plans to quit over such mandates, the discussion at DEAMcon24 is crucial.

The need for flexibility also goes beyond choosing between remote and on-site work. It’s about creating a space where employees can be themselves, fully and openly. This panel will look at important topics:

  • Creating an Inclusive Culture. Tiffany Meehan will talk about how businesses can make everyone feel welcome and accommodated right from the start. She’ll also look at best practices for integrating personalized workplace accommodations into the talent acquisition process, ensuring that the unique needs of all employees, including those with disabilities and veterans, are met from day one.
  • How Effective is Your Strategy? What approaches can organizations use to accurately evaluate the effectiveness and influence of their DEIB efforts, promoting accountability and ongoing enhancement?
  • Supporting Veterans: Rob Arndt of BufferSprings will address the unique challenges veterans face when entering the civilian workforce, such as mental health support and skill translation.
  • Balancing Corporate and DEIB Goals: Momolu Cooper from OutSolve will discuss how to align broader corporate goals with specific DEIB objectives, focusing on self-identification.
  • Activating Employee Resource Groups: Mikey Meagher from DirectEmployers will share ways to keep Employee Resource Groups active and aligned with overall business strategies.

Moving Forward

DEAMcon24 is an opportunity for those invested in the future of work to come together and discuss how to make the workplace better for everyone. It’s about recognizing that flexibility and personalization are not just nice to have but essential for a thriving workplace. This discussion will provide real strategies and inspire a commitment to making DEIB efforts work in practice.

As we navigate changes like return-to-office policies and a growing demand for personalized work experiences, DEAMcon24 offers a practical guide: embrace flexibility, listen to what employees need, and use technology to make these needs manageable at a large scale.
