COVID-19 has irrevocably changed both the workplace and the mindset of the average worker. Perhaps the least measured and understood aspect of COVID’s imprint is the condition known as long COVID, which can include a wide range of ongoing health problems that can last weeks, months, or years. And as with any new disease, the long-term outcomes are truly unknowable.
New research commissioned by Inclusively on the impact of long COVID on workers indicates that 76% of those who have had long COVID had to take more time off work or had to stop working entirely, and nearly 40% can no longer work as many hours as they did previously.
This research report is intended to help employers:
- Better understand the immense toll that long COVID imparts on workers
- Contextualize the disproportionate impact of the disease on marginalized and underrepresented communities, particularly communities of color
- Create processes to proactively support the employees with long COVID, thereby improving outcomes for both individuals and organizations
